Are The Materials In our Furry Friends Harmful to Children?

Build a bear

Furry friends are one of the most beloved toys around the world, with hundreds of millions of children relying on their special furry friends to help them feel comforted during the day. As a parent, you might be on the lookout for a new furry friend for your beloved child. At the same time, you probably want to make sure that the materials used in creating the plush are not going to be harmful to your child in any way. Thankfully, we’ve got everything you need to know right here, in order to give you greater peace of mind about what our furry friends are made of.

Why Trust Matters To Build-A-Bear

Having created over 160 million furry friends across the world, the Build-A-Bear team is committed to not only creating the best possible products, but also to ensuring a relationship of trust with every customer. Just like in the trusting relationship that forms between a child and their furry friend, we like to uphold the highest of standards to ensure parents feel comfortable leaving their children in the company of the furry friend at all hours. When furry friends leave our workshop, even if with a countless amount of accessories, we guarantee that strict attention has been paid to various safety standards that had to be met before any of the products you’ve left with could even hit the shelves to begin with.

What Our Furry friends Are Made Of

All of the products used in the Build-A-Bear workshop are produced from the highest quality materials, none of which are harmful to children. Our stuffing is made from high-grade polyester fiber, which is common among many other reputable manufacturers around the world. Most of our products are produced in Asia, and all of them need to go through a series of rigorous tests in order to be ready to be sold. Keep in mind that not all manufacturers will have the same high compliance standards, which is why you’re better off buying from us, rather than gambling with your chances elsewhere.

Lab Testing For Double Protection

Each of our products also goes through independent, third-party testing in order to meet total compliance before they get shipped to our warehouses. There is a formal test report that has to be passed, otherwise they won’t hit the shelves at any time. Our suppliers also have to be compliant with the International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI), which adds another layer to the protection we offer our customers. That said, please remember that products are safe as long as they are used for their intended purposes. Toy skateboards, for instance, are meant for the bears only. Talk to your child about this, in order to avoid any otherwise preventable accidents.

Buying a Safe Furry friend

With all the formalities out of the way, you can now start exploring the range of different options to choose from when you’re looking to add another furry friend to the family.
